Hello and Welcome to an Imbolc Special of YinArt Notes.
At MovYin Art we explore how to live in alignment with the Seasons of the Year and the Cycles of the Moon, attuning ourselves to the wisdom of our Universe.
And the Wheel of the Year can help us in this journey, acting as a guide through the seasons.
In December, I invited you to journey with the Winter Solstice and the 12 nights of Yule. You can check out the past episodes on my podcast Agni and Soma (apple podcast, or spotify), or the Yule Affirmation Meditation, which can be used anytime you need some reflection, grounding and renewal.
Opposite to the Winter Solstice we have the Summer Solstice in June, with half a year still to journey 😉
But between the Winter and Summer Solstices, we have the Spring Equinox, and the Autumn Equinox on the other side of the Journey – from Summer to Winter. And right in between each seasonal change we have the Quarter Days, marking the midpoint in between the seasons, acting like a threshold, marking the beginning of the end of the current season, and bringing the energy of the next season:
- Imbolc, between Winter and Spring,
- Beltane, between Spring and Summer,
- Lammas, between Summer and Autumn, and
- Samhain, between Autumn and Winter.
Today I am going to talk about Imbolc and invite you on a journey with me.
Imbolc
This year, Imbolc takes place on the second of February, marking the midway point between Winter and Spring. Although the darkness and cold are still here, the days are starting to get longer, and the first sprouts might start to shoot (I just saw the first narcissus of the season ❤ ). Spring is stirring, not only in the air, but in our hearts too.

The energy of this midpoint – midseason – is one of hope and rebirth. It is a time of gentle awakening and planning. As I mentioned in the last YinArt Note, this is not the time yet to plant the seeds, but to clear the space, so that the new seeds can be planted and the new crops – and projects – can bloom strong.
However, while we start to look forward to the lighter and brighter days, we still have dark days before us, so this journey is about reflecting on what can sustain us through the dark days still to come, strengthening our boundaries on how to spend our energy, harnessing our inner light to guide us forward, clearing and cleansing for the new season and planning the next steps.
Flow & Invitation
With this energy in mind, I would like to invite you for a seven day Journey of Light & Renewal.
Starting on Imbolc Day (2nd of February), and lasting seven days, I will be sharing short reflective prompts on my podcast Agni & Soma, to ignite our Light and help us with clearing our sacred space and planning for lighter days to come.
Below I leave you with a short flow into stillness: to gently move your body, clearing away stagnant energy, opening the heart for the new season, inviting new energy to sustain us in this final stretch of winter, and pausing for reflection.
Journaling Prompts
- What can sustain you through the darkness still to come?
- Where do you want to spend my energy?
- What needs to be released and cleared?
Until Next Time,
Keep Flowing
Carolina.
