January’s Energetic Threshold into the New Year

Hello and Welcome to January’s YinArt Notes.

This month MovYin Art is exploring how to find balance between action and stillness. 

How to invite movement into the body, and action towards our new goals, while honoring the pause of the winter season.

This pull into action that January brings, counterposing the pull inward of the winter season can be quite unbalancing for our body and mind.

We start the year full of goals and dreams, racing hard as if in a short sprint match, only to lose our energy and begin to feel unable to keep up with the marathon we in fact signed up for – remember we have 365 days on this new cycle, not just January 2nd).

Inviting The Pause

In order to avoid falling down and feeling unable to get up after the first check in (which most of us treat like the whole run), or at least making sure we do have the energy to get up back again, we can set daily check-ins with ourselves: the pause.

A short pause in the day to listen deeply to your body and what it needs from you.

Winter is here inviting us to go inward and listen deeply to ourselves, so if we allow time and space to pause and invite stillness, tending to our body, we will notice, daily, what makes us happy, and what are the habits that can sustain us in the long run. Our dreams will start to take shape and our actions will be more grounded and in alignment with our dream goal.

New Begining:

We are still in January, the year is just beginning, and we just had a New Moon.

Lets take this New Cycle and set an intention to find our rhythm and balance through life, one small step at time.
